Major change in the EN388 mechanical risk standard on gloves

Hello, you may or may not know, there has been a major change in the EN388 mechanical risk standard on ALL gloves, the change relates to abrasion, cut and impact resistance

The main change, and the one that is most likely to cause confusion in the market place is with the Cut 5 rating, this test has changed to a much better system and is a lot more “life like” in the way it is now measured

Please see attached info sheet helping explain what the change is and what the new markings will be, also please see a link to YouTube to help explain it.

All of our Paramount gloves have been retested to the new standard and you will see the markings on the Paramount Arax Cut resistant gloves changing over the next few months as our new stock roles in, see attached spec sheet with all of our Paramount Arax gloves showing the new markings and cut rating

This is very important that you understand how the markings have changed and that you are able to buy the gloves with confidence. Current customers who are currently using Cut 5 gloves will see the different markings and WILL want to know why it has changed and all of a sudden the Cut 5 glove they were using now has an “X” as the cut rating!

CDA will have the glove cut test machine available for anyone who wants a demonstration.
