TRADE DESCRIPTION
Precast concrete panels are poured horizontally and then lifted into position. The casting methods fall into two main categories
Precast Panels are often cast in a warehouse enviroment, the panels are poured on a steel bed and transported to site. As they are transported there is a limitation to the size of the panels. Panels are normally poured with the ferrules face down, with the lifting anchors in the edge of the panels and gives them the lifters the name of edge lifters. The panels are cast on a steel bed and will require a steel release agaent to avoid the panels sticking to the bed.
Casting on site is called Tilt Panel or Tilt up. These panels are normally cast face up and as the lifting anchors are on the face of the panel it gives the anchors the name of face lifters. The panels are poured on a concrete slab, often the buildings slab and will need a concrete release agent so the panels don't stick to the bed.
